Naphtali Israel, 44, from Denver, took his three stepdaughters, ages two, seven and 14, to Safeway to shop for groceries. He left them in the car while he went inside, where someone called 911 and reported that a black man was sitting in the front seat of a car with a gun. Denver police arrived on the scene and, after locating a car that matched the description, pointed a gun at the three girls inside. A stranger told Israel a gun was pointed at his children and, when he went outside, he was told to put his hands up and handcuffed. Israel's attorneys are considering a use-of-force and equal protection civil rights lawsuit.
