Detroit Health Care Worker Dies After Hospital Where She Worked Denied Her Coronavirus Test 4 Times
A Detroit health care worker died of Coronavirus after being denied testing four times by her employer, Beaumont hospital.
Deborah Gatewood, 63, started experiencing symptoms mid-March. She drove herself to the hospital's emergency room multiple times but was denied testing every time.
By the time that she was tested for Coronavirus at another hospital, she had a fever of 106 degrees and had developed bilateral pneumonia. Gatewood's kidneys began to fail. Then her heart. On April 17, she was declared dead.
