I Got Arrested for ‘Hacking Trump’s Tax Returns’ | Fakes, Frauds & Scammers
Jordan Hamlett has wanted to be a private investigator for as long as he can remember. He has used creative tailing attempts to nab scammers who were cashing in on insurance fraud, committing arson on their own property and even faking their disappearance.
Nowadays, he spends most of his time following his targets online, even becoming a catfish himself to catch other catfish. Jordan knows the mind of a fraudster and sees vulnerabilities in internet data security everywhere. When he tried to alert a federal website that it was allowing for identity theft, he used Donald Trump’s social security number to prove it. The plan spectacularly backfired, with the FBI convicting him of fraud for trying to steal Trump’s identity.
