Supreme Court Won't Limit Partisan Gerrymandering - LIVE COVERAGE

The Haze Of Our Lives™ "X"

The Supreme Court ruled today that it cannot limit partisan gerrymandering and said it is up to the states and Congress to do so. Get the latest details in our LIVE COVERAGE.

Partisan gerrymandering is when one political party draws election boundaries that unfairly favor that party. In the case under consideration, Rucho v. Common Cause, plaintiffs in North Carolina and Maryland argued that Congressional districts in their states were unconstitutionally gerrymandered (by Republicans in North Carolina and Democrats in Maryland) and asked the Court to void these districts. But by a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court said that the federal courts do not have the power to overturn districts created by partisan gerrymandering.

In this interactive live stream, host Steve Lookner summarizes the basics behind today's Supreme Court ruling on partisan gerrymandering, and he'll also read your comments and questions on the air!
