Barry became a hurricane this morning (after being Tropical Storm Barry) when its maximum sustained winds reached 75 miles per hour, and is now once again Tropical Storm Barry. Barry is forecast to drop 10 to 20 inches of rain on southeast Louisiana and southwest Mississippi this weekend, with 25 inches possible locally. New Orleans has closed a number of flood gates in anticipation of the storm. Other states are also at risk of severe weather from Barry, such as Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
