1PathwaytoFreedom says - I know a lot of blacks today are opposed to marching and the type of measures taken and pursued back then, but I think that was probably one of the first resistance movements so successful of its kind and people are still following it. Most non black people who were around back then say blacks made a lot of progress as a result because their situation and public respect improved immensely compared to what it was prior to that movement. I feel it also inspired the majority of blacks to get involved in different ways and that combined effort within the collective brought about progress.
