This is an interview with a former Crips gang member named Sanyika Shakur,formerly known as Kody "Monster" Scott, who is widely known for his acclaimed autobiography titled 'Monster: The Autobiography of an L.A. Gang Member.' Shakur was born & raised in Los Angeles, CA in which he became a member of the Eight Trey Gangster Crips(A sect of the Crips gang organization) at the age of 13-years-old. In 2008 he served a prison sentence in Pelican Bay State Prison in California where it was alleged that he was involved in a carjacking. This interview took place shortly after his release from prison in 2012 in which he speaks about his experience as a prisoner in Pelican Bay State Prison.
