Mamadou Faye is taking social media by storm especially with his consistent video content on YouTube on matters relating to the history of Siin and its royal dynasties. This is the first part of a series of interviews with Mamadou Faye relating to the history of Siin. Today marks the 153rd anniversary of the Battle of Fandane-Thiouthioune (18 July 1867) - also known as the Battle of Somb - where the King of Siin - Maad a Sinig Kumba Ndoofeen fa Maak Juuf defeated Maba Jaaxu Bâ and his ally forces, and the battle in which Maba was killed. On this show, the panel discusses the surprised attack of the Seereers by the Senegambian Muslim forces at Mbin o Ngor (also known as Mbetan Kerr Ngor) in April 1867.
