Jason Van Dyke Was Happy With Less Than 7 Year Sentence Given In Laquan MacDonald Case
Former Chicago police Officer Jason Van Dyke shouldn’t be happy. Not now, and not for a very long time.
He’s a convicted mu*derer, guilty of second-degree mu*der and 16 counts of aggravated battery in the egregious shooting death of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald.
With that verdict last October, it seemed justice was done. But on Friday, Chicagoans heard Cook County Circuit Judge Vincent Gaughan announce Van Dyke’s sentence: less than seven years in prison, with a reasonable expectation he’ll walk free in three years.
