1979 THROWBACK: "SAN FRANCISCO GAYS RIOT" LOOK FAMILIAR?

Gay San Franciscans were appalled by the verdict. A march from Castro and Market streets was quickly organized and started peacefully. It turned violent when the crowd reached Civic Center.
