About The Seereer Resource Centre & Seereer RadioWelcome to the Seereer Resource Centre (SRC) and Seereer Radio Black Junction TV Channel.
The SRC was founded with the aim of providing support services for education and research in the various languages (Seereer-Siin, Saafi-Saafi, Ndut, Sili-Sili, Noon and Laalaa), culture, history, religion and herbal medicinal practices of the Seereer people of Senegal, The Gambia and Mauritania. We have a huge database of resources relating to all things Seereer (variations: Serer, Sérère or Sereer) and regularly hold events and networking opportunities in Senegal, The Gambia and the UK that helps to connect the Seereer community.
In January 2016, we launched our 24 hour live streaming talk and music radio station - Seereer Radio as part of our educational initiative. Look forward to topical discussions and exclusive interviews on matters relating to Seereer religion, history and culture, and of course Seereer and general Senegalese and Gambian music. Over the years, we have interviewed so many Seereer/African scholars and artists, addressed various Seereer related topics including Seereer and Traditional African religious persecution and discrimination within the Senegambia and Africa, the dangerous ideology of white supremacy, the toxicity of Christianity and Islam in the African continent and on the African mind. All off this shows can be listened to by vising our podcast page (link below).
In April 2017, the SRC launched its imprint and publishing house - Seereer Heritage Press. The key objective of this publishing house is to publish titles relating to Seereer Heritage - e.g. Seereer religion (A ƭat Roog), history, culture, languages and literature.
